When you move to the City of Potlatch, you will need to establish some basic utility services in order to make your new house or apartment feel more like home. Below are a list of services and service providers you will need to contact in order to establish water and wastewater service, garbage service, hook up your power and turn on your phone.

Water and Sewer Utility Service 

     You can establish your new utility account during our normal business hours of 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday closed from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. for lunch. You will need to have the utility account placed in your name and provide a current mailing address. Mail is delivered to most of Potlatch through the Post Office. Garbage Service

      If you own a house in the City of Potlatch, the garbage bill is calculated in your monthly utility bill from the City of Potlatch. Garbage services are provided by Sunshine Disposal and garbage is picked up on Tuesday mornings. Please have your garbage cart out and ready to be picked up by 6:00 a.m. All garbage must be contained (the lid must be completely closed) in a roll cart provided by Latah County. There are three different sized roll carts that you can order: 35 gallon, 65 gallon and a 95 gallon.

      If there are extra bags of garbage on or around your roll cart on garbage day, you will be charged an extra fee per bag. All extra garbage placed outside of your roll cart will be charged accordingly.

     Garbage service is required in the City of  Potlatch. All residents and businesses must have the minimum size roll cart. Please call City Hall, 208-875-0708, to schedule a delivery of a roll cart.

Recycle Bins

    There are recycling bins in the City Hall parking lot at 195 6th Street. You may recycle paper, cans (tin and aluminum) and cardboard.

Yard Waste

     Yard waste can be disposed of in a bin located at the back entrance to Scenic 6 Park. Follow Mill road from the train depot. Loose yard debris or debris in compostable bags ONLY - NO TRASH. If you would like the City to pick up your yard waste call City Hall, 208-875-0708 to set up yard waste pick-up service for $20/month

Electric

     Electricity is provided by Avista Power. Call 1-800-227-9187 to set up service.

Telephone & Internet

     Telephone and fiber internet service is provided by Ziply Fiber. Call 1-877-462-8188 to set up service.
